Hi,
Ive had this problem pretty much since i got my car a year ago and it keeps coming and going. Basically it is that my car randomly starts reving up its engine when sitting at lights or when i just turn the engine on. This happens first thing in the morning aswell as last thing at night when i have been driving all day.

Ive noticed that because it revs up itself then when im driving along the road it would accelerate itself and drop power altogether then 2seconds later accelerate again (by itself) and keep doing this over and over again until i take it out of gear and put it back in. This is realy annoying because when drivin in 30mph zones i have to stick on the breaks to stop hittin the car infront.

Any ideas???
thanks

A couple of things come to mind; A sticky IAC (idle air control) motor, which on most cars can be cleaned; Or, a faulty CTS (coolant temp sensor). I suppose, a vacuum leak, is also a possibility.
