SHOCK INSTALLATION Sign In

I installed 2 rear shocks on a 2001 Dodge Durango. After only a few miles the shocks were loose and the top of the left one came loose and the shock hit the ground. Is there a trick to installing shocks other than just tightening the bolts and nuts?

What style was the top? Just a stud with washers and rubber insulators and a nut on top or a butterfly type? That's way to fast for one to come completely off so perhaps tightening it up fooled you and it wasn't tight at all. Hit back and I'll try to suggest some solutions,
