Sentra never starts first time	Sign In

I own 2005 Nissan Sentra Special Edition with about 70,000 miles. Everything on the car seems to be running properly except that it never starts up the first time -- the engine simply sputters violently. However, this is not a major problem (to us) because it has never failed to start up the second time without incident. Does anybody know what the issue could possibly be? (Or if it even is an issue?)

Is it like it's flooded the first try? May have injectors leaking down. Check oil for evidence of fuel (smell) and if overfull too if gas is leaking badly it can get into oil + not good!

I have a similiar problem with my 2002 nissan sentra with about 133000 miles on it. Mines have a no start conndition. sometimes if i let it sit it will start. I have had several repairs done but the problem still recur. I have had the following replace battery,spark plugs, starter and fuel injectors replaced. What can be done to get to the root of the problem.

as a 2002 nissan sentra owner myself.

i put money on your fuel pump. the sentras are notorious for weak/short lived fuel pumps. the internal check valve fails and allows the fuel in the lines to drain back into the tank.

try this next time you get in the car.

cycle the ignition key to the on position (BUT DONT CRANKTHE ENGINE)allow the fuel pump to run for 3 seconds......do this about three times. ill guarantee itll start right up..

what your doing is repressurizing/priming the fuel system getting the gas back up to the engine
