Silverado vibration Sign In

Recently bought a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado extend cab with 88000 miles. Truck has a vibration across or near the dashboard area when truck reaches 45 mile per our. As soon as you take you foot off the gas pedal the vibration stops or if you drive over or under that speed it stops. Tires and alignment seem fine when driving.

Re: Silverado vibration Sign In

Unless you've checked the balance of the tires on a balancer there is no way of knowing if they are out or not. An alignment won't cause a vibration.

Granted if the vibration is only happening under acceleration it probably isn't wheel balancing but at the speed it's happening that is something I would check anyway.

That is right in the area where the O/D for the trans kicks in, take it out of overdrive & see if that makes a difference. Also the speed is a bit high for u-joints but you might what to check them as well....
