Snow tire Question/ Rust proofing Sign In

I am getting my snow tires put on tomorrow, do I need to get them balanced? They have less than 12000 miles on them. 2008 Civic. Also do you really need to get your car rust proofed every year. I had it done last October by Krown. Dripped for days after.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Snow tire Question/ Rust proofing Sign In

Tires only have to be balanced if they have been removed from the wheels. If they are still mounted on wheels from last year, then no but if you are putting them on wheels, they have to be balanced also.

As far as the rustproofing, I live in Florida now but you can't rustproof over dirt so the only time it does you any good is doing it when the vehicle is brand new. Anytime after that and you are just wasting your money.

Not sure what you mean rustproofing over dirt. Don't they do inside under the hood, inner car parts.
Thanks, Bobbiebittman

Rustproofing will only protect and adhere to clean metal. Once a car is exposed to the elements, rustproofing is futile.
