Spark plug removal. Sign In

Hi, We just bought our kid a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire with a 2.4 engine. I removed the aluminum plate above them and there's a rubber cover and a plastic clip that snaps into the aluminum cover above the spark plugs. How do I get to the spark plugs? I already broke one of the clips trying to remove them. Thanks.

Along with changing the plugs, you might want to change the coil housing. (big plastic piece the plug boots attach to) That is common failure part on the quad 4s. Most parts houses should stock it.....

Although the coil housing is definitely the source of misfire issues on this engine, there is no need to change it if the engine doesn't have a misfire issue already.
