Split in Turbo pipe??? help needed Sign In

Hi, went to purchase a ford mondeo ghia 2.0 TDCi 2005 last night. Was perfect car but when I accelerated, the turbo sounded a bit blowy and we got told that there was a small split in the turbo pipe. Other than that, the car drove fine. When we got back the car had been sat idle for a few minutes and when I tried to start it again, it wouldn't fire up and sounded really chuggy. The guy said it was because the split in the turbo was letting in a bit of air and that he'd get the split repaired before I took it. I said I'd leave it for now and as I was walking away it started again. Just wanted to know if that sounds like the problem he said or something else? Thanks for help

What he said sounds legit. Why don't you wait and see how his repair turns out. That way we aren't wasting time playing the guessing game.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Scan for codes ESPECIALLY if the ck eng light is off.
Have a professional technician go over the vehicle BEFORE purchase.
Get the replacement part from VW... not the junkyard -duct tape - craszy glue- route

Letting in a bit of air? - strongly consider my suggestions
