Squeaky noise from the muffler

My car does a squeaky noise from either the muffler or somewhere above it when I release the gas pedal, and rpm goes down (on idle). Or when I'm going slow on first or second gear (gas pedal released).

Have you or your mechanic been underneath the vehicle and determined the source of the noise? We can't hear your noise and can't be there to pinpoint its location, so can't really give you any answers as to what is causing it.
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Is it a mouse? Kidding.
Maybe from the flex pipe up front. Noises are difficult to peg down over the web vs being there. Try tapping on exhaust parts with engine off it might make the noise then and easy to find if exhaust at all?

I've been under the car myself, and as I said it's exactly the muffler area. I've tried to move it or hold it so the noise would go away, but it didn't help at all, so I started to think it must be something inside the muffler (?). And yeah when the car is off no noises like that one come up.

If a professional looked at it as suggested, they could probably tell you is that is correct or not.

Dispoz: Is this to say you've been under it with it running and couldn't stop the noise by grabbing parts with like welding gloves?
I find these odd noises in seconds perhaps just luck and know where to look by type of sound. Mufflers can be full of rust but not a squeak rather a loose noise of a item full of small rocks. Toss those and the do show themselves with a rubber hammer.
The common stuff is what move. Hangers, flex pipes, heat shields up to many can be caused by bad motor mounts but those generally need a load of the engine.
Other bull that is elusive is noises travel and you might be barking up the wrong tree with this. Hammer has said already, a pro should find this in no time.
If parts all good you make sure system in general isn't bent somehow from hitting something - those either might bend back or hopeless except replacing parts if so,
