I have a 1991 GMC Jimmy that I need to put a new starter on. My question is will it drop straight down or do I need to remove the crossover exhaust pipe or jack the motor up a little. It is a 4.3 v6 4 wheel drive 2 door vehicle. I have been both by friends and was just wondering if anyone knows for sure before I start. Thanks Chip

It will come out with out removing exhaust. It takes a bit of fanagiling but it will come out. Just a side not: Be sure to disconnect the battery before you start the job. Jeff
