Stuck Compression Tester

I was running a compression test today, when I ran into a little problem. The compression tester I used had a screw on extender attachment to fit my vehicle (93 ford probe) and when I tried to unscrew the tester from the spark plug after I was done, the attachment remained in the hole. It seems like a dumb design, and I feel certain that someone has run into this problem before. The attachment has a hex edge but there isn't enough wall clearance to fit a socket. The only thing I have considered doing is using a strong adhesive to glue my compression tester to the attachment, and then unscrew, but I am afraid if the hose breaks off, I have gotten myself into even more trouble. Like I said, I feel like someone has to have run into this problem again, does anyone have advice for me? Thanks
