I have a 1999 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 liter anniversary edition. It has 130,000+ miles. Sometimes when i drive the car for a short amount of time, or a long amount of time, then shut it off, run in the store or whatever, it wont start when i come back out. After waiting about an hour or 2, it will start no problem. During this time, if i turn the key nothing happens. The radio comes on, headlights, heater, dash lights come on, but the car doesnt even crank. It will just suddenly turn over after an hour or 2. Sometimes i hear a buzzing sound coming from the engine when trying to start it. But sometimes i dont. What could be wrong?

ooonimrodooo; (that's quite a moniker); This sounds like classic starter issues. The problem wil be to get it to act up during testing. Starters are at their worst when hot, batteries when cold. Loren SW Washington
