I have a 1987 Chevy Suburban that makes a horrible noise when it starts i was informed that the flywheel needed tightened where do i find it?

Flywheel/ring gear is the huge gear the starter turns that is on flywheel or torque converter ring gear. Never heard of that coming loose?? Starter may have a problem - that's more likely,
