2 years ago I traded in my 89 chevy that had OBDI , where I could count the check engine light flashes for trouble codes. Actually in the 14 years I owned the car, just had to do that once, the ox sensor went bad. ...anyway, I like to be prepared. My new car is a Chevy Impala 2003 3.4L. I have the factory manual from Helm, looks like a lot can be done with a good automotive type DVOM. That brings me to the first question. I have looked at OTCs automotive DVOM and Flukes, now I am asking you what is your favorite ? All manufacturesr of DVOMs, what do you use or like ? Question number 2 I have OBDII VPW gateway ( i think, not sure) I have this http://www.scantool.net/products/index.htm also,(I can not afford the $6K scan tools... ) is ther something better, hand held ? palm piolot ? notebook based ?
