Sunroof won't close

Just had the alternator replaced on my '99 Chev Cavalier Z24. Sunroof opened but won't close now. Opened just fine, motor didn't lag. I checked the circuit breaker, but it also controls the power windows, which work fine. Am I looking at a busted switch, something preventing it from closing, the motor or a separate fuse/breaker/relay?

On this one, I would look at wiring diagram and probably start off with the switch since you have already verified a good power source. I haven't worked on many sunroofs but the motors on most are similiar to a window in which there is just one motor and all they do is reverse the polarity to get it to go in different directions... So typically with a window, if the window goes in one direction but not the other, usually the motor is good & the problem lies in the switch area... You should probably look at a diagram to trace it down to make sure where the problem is... I know some systems use a module as well rather then just a switch & wires....... I mean why in the world would you just use a simple dual positon switch & a couple of wires & motor when you could throw a module into the mix as well to make it that much more complicated to diag.......... Actually I don't think the Cavs did but check it out just to be sure.........
