Thoughts on Repair Estimate? Sign In

Hello Community!

I have a 2004 Mazda3 Hatchback 2.0 with 130K miles.
She's in for her first strut and bearing replacements today. I've been with my mechanic for 5+ years and he has 30 years exp. I feel he's been honest, as well as a good value. But, I'd like to get your thoughts on his estimate for today's repair job (none of these items have ever been replaced):

Replace front struts (totally blown and leaking)
Replace left front bearings
Replace thermostat after computer scan
Oil Change
Around 4 hours of labor

Estimate: $1300

Thanks!

There are many factors i dont have that affect the est . What is thre average labor rate for your area ? Your going to pay more in NYC than Smallville USA. How good is warrenty ? P&L or just parts ? Does est include alignment ? Does it include all taxes and state and local fees ,ie ,disposal. Generallly speaking it sounds about right on average.Do you feel that your mechanic would risk a loyal repeat customer for a one time scalping.........?A good shop works hard to get a good reputation.GO with your gut.

Thanks re-tired, I really appreciate your input... Sorry about the double post. I though I may have posted in the wrong spot at first when I re-looked at where I posted originally.
