Tire rotation at 10,000 miles? Sign In

My 2019 Toyota Highlander, front wheel drive, has 25,000 miles on it. Oil changes are done every 10,000 miles. Can I wait to rotate my tires every 10,000 miles as well? Maintenance guide says 5,000 miles but would like to combine both at 10,000 for the sake of convenience. Michelin tire warranty says rotate every 6,000 - 8,000 miles or sooner if manufacturer requires.

It's not your tires that concern me.

Why are you doing such long intervals on oil changes? 10K would be excessive even with synthetic oil.

Just because that is all the dealer requires doesn't make it right. They are planning on selling you another car after the warranty expires because there won't be much engine left.

I've been a tech for over 50 years and I personally change the oil in my personal vehicles at 4K for regular and 7K for synthetic. But that's only if you still want to have a healthy engine when the warranty expires.

If 4X4 (IDK if they made these 2WD?) I'd rotate a LOT more! The geometry just isn't there you'll be safe but will get noisy tires that are NOT worn all at the same time. Try 3-4,000 depends on exact use it gets. Lots of curvy roads, rough or lousy roads and harsh crest to some (water drainage reasons) do this a lot.
Oil: Not fair as I don't do many miles still it adds up how many warm-ups and short trips. All weather extremes only thing low on is dusty roads?
Synthetic or not done by a year for vehicles that only went 1-2,000 or less!
Synthetic is all I use despite high ratings for some "conventional oil" it's getting contaminated if it was liquid gold so dump it more.
If you buy new vehicles on a schedule 4-5 years at the rate you are going you won't be the beneficiary the next owner will or you if you keep it TONS longer assorted reasons you + people do,
