Toyota Camry won't start

I'm a poor college hoping to sell my 1991 Toyota Camry DX with 196,000 miles on it. I've had this car for 5 years and I think it might be at the end of it's life. :( Anyway, the current condition of the car is that it won't start. I thought the problem might be my battery, but my battery is pretty new I bought it a year ago. The car is completely dead, I've jump started it before and it will work but after a few hours I try starting it again and it doesn't work. It also makes dying noises when it's on, I've had problems in the past whenever my car is idling it will just stall at red lights. I've brought this car to a mechanic to fix, and he'll fix it and then a few weeks later I have the same problem. I don't know if it's a crooked mechanic or just my car. Anyway, I'm planning to try to sell it on Craigs list for $500. Is the problem worth fixing and selling? Do I need another new battery? Can I just sell the car as is? Will someone actually buy it? PLEASE HELP, need advice.

These are questions that have to be answered from your end. You battery needs to be tested, your charging system needs to be tested. Don't assume you battery is good because it isn't very old. That means nothing. Check and clean all the battery terminals also. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
