Toyota Shakes when I brake Sign In

I own a 2004 Toyota 4Runner. When I brake the truck shakes! I am not car savvy so I am not sure what it could be.

From the information you gave, sounds like you have a warped rotor. I base this on your statement as it only happens during braking.

I agree with way2old. If the steering wheel shakes left to right when you hit the brakes. I would have your front rotors checked. If they are warped, replace your rotors and brake pads. There are different priced brake rotors on the market. Make sure you buy the more expensive rotors, made in the USA. The cheap rotors will not last.

These guys are correct, to cut cost the rotors could be turned or machined meaning that a shop would shave them down abit. cost around $10.00 -$15.00 each if you take them off your self. But keep in mind a bad wheelbearing or tie rod could be the problem more than likely it's the rotors, Is there a vibration or pulsating in the pedal when braking???
