Transmission fluid too high Sign In

I took my car into a garage. They overfilled the transmission fluid. It it about 1/2" over where it is supposed to be on the stick. How far can I drive my car to get it somewhere where they can fix this problem?

The range between add and full when checked hot in all cars I know of is 1/2 qt. You said 1/2 inch which isn't telling much about how full (overfull) it is. Vehicles are designed to be ok when a little too full or a little too low as that happens while you drive and the angle of where you park and drive.

Older cars used to blow out an overfill and didn't seem to hurt anything. I don't trust that though. This is a judgement call you must make. What does the shop suggest you do? Is the car level where YOU checked the level? If not, check it again.

It's PROBABLY ok to drive but my final suggestion is don't without being there and seeing it. Your call,
