The water pump on my 2001 ford explorer keeps leaking. I have had it replaced 4 times now in the last three months. Every time i get it replaced it stops leaking for two or three weeks and then starts to leak again. IS there anything that could be causing the water pump to start leaking again leaking after only a few weeks??? Mad

Make sure that you thoroughly clean the mating surface of the old gasket before you install the new pump or the new gasket will fail. My next mention is try a different brand water pump. You could be getting poorly made pumps or the product line could be defective.
Also, you should start with pressure testing the cooling system to make sure it is the pump leaking. It could be a by-pass hose with a pinhole or loose clamp. It could also be an intake manifold gasket. These leaks will run down the front of the engine soaking the water pump making it look like the problem.

To add (hard to when Steve has hit back) but check out in fact if new or not throw out the radiator cap.

I've never seen it but if it holds way too much pressure it could cause early water pump failure????????? Who knows for sure? You can test a cap as it is the pressure regulator for the system but after FOUR water pumps (the weak link) the cap would be gone. Good luck with the cure for this, T
