This was hanging down behind the right front bumper on my boyfriends car. We have no idea what it is and were hoping you guys could help! Also, is it bad to drive the car without whatever it is? Sorry, I'm clueless about cars so any ideas would be helpful. Thanks a ton. Sorry, forgot to post that it is a 2000 saturn I modified your link to show up here

It looks like some sort of air intake resonator...I have one on my dodge neon that looks similar to that one. It's primary purpose is for noise reduction, and if it is just a resonator you won't have any impacts on system performance or anything. But if you put it back up in there it should reduce some of the noise, although when I had mine out I wasn't able to notice any difference with noise level, ha!
