What's wrong with my car???

I have no idea what is wrong with my car. The engine just shuts down (but I don't lose power) when I go from reverse to drive. It also shuts down when I am coming to a stop. It starts up okay, but it just doesn't stay that way! Any ideas? Transmission maybe?

it sounds like a sensor is at fault. a diognostics test should show what is at fault. which one i dont know becuase many cars have different sensors connected to either the motor or the transmission. What kind of car do u have?
