Wheel Bearings... Sign In

I have a 1997 Olds Bravada. 150,000 miles on car, 80,000 on a newer engine.

-Is there anyway for me to tell if the wheel bearings have gone bad by physical inspection, without taking off wheel, etc.?

-Is it possible for the wheel bearings to go bad, but to never hear them get loud/noisy? Is there a possibility that the noise can go away after time?

-Is there life threatening danger if I do not get them changed immediately?

-Is $250 a wheel the approximate price fix?

Thanks for the help anyone and everyone!
