White exhaust smoke Sign In

2002 chevy tracker 66 k miles purchased at local dealer had small amount of white smoke from exhaust when starting engine after sitting overnight. over the next 8 weeks the amount of smoke from the exhaust in the morning was getting more and more. the dealer checked coolants, etc. and agreed to put a different engine in the vehicle. the new engine with 81K miles was installed and we brought the vehicle home last evening. when the vehicle was started up this morning there was a small amount of the same type of white smoke and the smoke kept showing up in larger amounts when the vehicle was started up different times today. could we possibly be so unlucky to get two engines with the same problem? could the problem be in the exhaust or somewhere besides the engine? this is crazy! thanks

There is probably still some coolant trapped in the exhaust that hasn't totally been burnt off yet. Keep an eye on the coolant level. There's also a pretty good chance that the Catalytic Converter is pretty much ruined too from all the coolant.
