Me again 1992 Ford Bronco 5L 405,000K Can start it up, runs fine warming up. As soon as I put it into gear, engine immediately stalls. Won't fire up again. Wait for a couple of hrs & can repeat the whole scenario. Any ideas??????? Thanks in advance. Cheers!!

They have a lot of problems with the ignition modules on those. Check to see if you have spark when it won't start. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Ok, I went & bought the spark tester. Went through the whole procedure til the truck stalls & won't restart. Put on the spark tester & it appears to have plenty of spark. Put the coil wire back on & truck still won't start. Any other ideas????? Thanks Cheers!!

Try spraying some starting fluid in the carb when it dies to see if your lacking fuel.

Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on. Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off. If all other tests are passed. then perform a complete compression test and record the results. All cylinders should be over 120lbs in most cases and all be within 10% of each other.

HI again Ok, I've replaced the Ignition control module. Get very nice quick start up. Difference right away was when the engine stalled while still in park, it will re-start again. Unlike the last go round. Then I put it into gear & it dies again & won't re-start. Turns over but won't fire up. Arrrggggggg!!!! It was suggested from someone that it could be my transmission control module. Any thoughts on this???? Cheers!!

You told me earlier that you still had spark when it would start. That would eliminate the Ignition module right there.

There was spark but it was orange in color & not blue. So thought that may have been it. That & many suggestions that the ICM would be the answer. LOL, it definitely starts quicker now, except after putting into gear. I don't get it??
