You're going to have to have someone put a fuel pressure gauge on it when it's been sitting for a while and see exactly what the fuel pressure does while you are trying to start it. This engine is very pressure sensitive and requires a minimum of 55 PSI to run.

Yes - take fuel pressure especially when it works every day and then when it doesn't. I'm curious about the plain battery voltage also taken when it works daily and what it is when it doesn't even though it cranks.

Watch if it takes a helper how much the voltage drops while starter is cranking both situations. If low after a couple/few days meaning just sitting there reads perhaps 11v or less maybe a drain or battery is just losing it?

Combo of watching both when it does this and when it doesn't.

As HT said this needs a bare minimum of pressure to run at all and if battery isn't at full power might not be able to but close. Just thinking not to confuse but have fought with ones that plain worked when checked and could fail when not around to find weak battery or fuel pump. Like to catch them in the act before concluding,

T

You won't either. That is until you get it to act up again and your testing the right thing at the right time. You should follow HT's advice.

You'll have to take the doghouse off to get to the fuel pressure service port.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

The next time that it won't start; Turn the key to the "on" position. (don't crank it over); Turn the key off, wait about 10-15 secs, the do the same thing. Each time you do that will increase the fuel pressure. If it starts after two or three tries, more than likely it's the fuel pump as HT suggested.
