I have a 1993 chevy silverado PU c1500 1/2 ton 5.7 or 350 ci motor. It won't start. Checked battery..good. Tested alternator and starter at Auto Zone and they both passed. Replaced pos and neg battery cables. Amp meter on dash continues to read 9-10 amps not the usual 12- 14. Not enough juice to kick over the starter, but lights are bright , radio works, interior lights work well. any suggestions?

You are reading voltage on the gauge, not amperage. How are you testing the battery? Remember that the starter takes a lot more current than the lights and other accessories. Have the battery load tested. Sounds to me like the battery is getting weak. If battery is indeed good, check for a blown a fusible link. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

If your talking about volts and not amps, then you either have a dead battery or bad connection to the power supplies somewhere. You need to start out by having he battery tested. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
