after market power locks? Sign In

I bought a 2000 Mitsubishi mirage last year from this kid and it runs great. I was thinking about installing power locks i looked up the kits online and it looks like he already installed it in the door! he manually installed power windows also even though only one works now. there is no button for the power locks though and he never gave me a remote is that what this thing in the door panel is?

It looks like there is an AM window motor, regulator & lock solenoid in there. I can't see the linkage hookups so am just guessing...

I imagine the locks are tied into an AM alarm and the only way to use those would be with a remote. You're going to have to find out what type of alarm it is and get a remote for it.

The problem with these aftermarket add ons is when something goes wrong with it.. You can't just go into any parts store and get parts for them, you will have to deal with the company that made the kit.

I know you bought this car used so you have to play the hand dealt to you but what I tell people buying new cars is, if there is an option you really want. Spend the extra money and get the factory one

That lock actuator is not mechanically connected to anything.
