annoying squeak Sign In

hey everyone i have a 96 bravada 4.3 liter v6, awd
i was wondering if any one can help me with an anoying little noise. for the past week when i come to a stop and then turn i hear a squeak that sounds like someone taking two pieces of rubber and rubbing them together. its not god awful loud but it is deffinetely noticeable. recently though its gotten to the point where even if im driving straight when i come to a stop and then start accelerating i can hear it. keep in mind it only makes this noise when accelerating. in the past month i changed the front brakes and put a new u joint in and was wondering if one of those could be the culprit. im pretty sure its not a wheel bearing though but not one hundred percent positive.
thank you all in advance
brian

You need to climb under your truck with a flash light and examine the universal joints real close. What your looking for is any red powder oozing out of any of the bearing caps. It sounds like you may have a bad u-joint.

brian; As I was reading your post, the first thing that came to mind was a U-joint. Then, I got to the end and read that you've replaced one. Hmmm. Did you check both on the rear driveshaft? I believe that you may have u-joints at the outer ends of the front axle shafts, as well. Since this only happens when you take off from a stop while turning, I'd want to take a good look at those front joints.
