98 Town and country chrysler van which way does the bug nut on the bearing turn. After that nut is removed will the axle come off or does more need to come apart

No, it will not because it's pressed together and that nut is tightened with over 200 ft lbs of torque. The studs can usually be changed without removing any of that. You may have to grind a flat spot of one side of the head for a little additional clearance to get it in.

ok got them out. put spacers on one and used impact gun to draw in it would not go in all the way then striped took it back out any tricks to put new ones in befor i destroy any more

Yeah, don't use a nut to draw them in. They make an installer tool that grabs a lot more thread so it doesn't strip.

If this is in multiple troubles it may be best to just get new hubs that come with the studs. Stinks but get new proper lug nuts too. Heck - this stuff is holding the wheel on!

they didnt have the right size. got it by center punch and 3lb hammertime while appling pressure with star wrench, lots of time and patiencethank you this site rocks you guys are always there for me with the greatist help this is my 4th time at least thanks again

Price out whole hub/bearings vs this craziness. Stay away from Chinese made important parts for things like this. Lower price is no bargain - trust me!

 this is all true there isnt a cheap store and a expensive store in my town. i need it fixed after its broken dont have time to quality shop but if i could it would always say MADE IN AMERICA  THANKS AGAIN ps my father says thank you to as is was his ride

Comment: Made in China is common and made in USA, Canada, even Mexico and Israel was usually good but forget it as it changes so much.
Hey - please don't think I'm bashing China or people from anywhere. That country can make products fast and furious cheaper so others are uncompetitive - that's all,
