car parking on a slope Sign In

I will be parking my car for three months because i am leaving the country. It will be parked on a slope with the gear shift in first gear as my emergency brake is not working properly. I wanted to know if leaving it in first gear for such a long time on a slope do any damage to the car? Help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Probably won't hurt anything. If you want to take the stress off the car, put a wood block behind your rear tires and put the car's weight against it. Then put it in gear and shut it off.

To add: Depending on situation/location, turn the wheels such that if is somehow decides to go on it's own it wont go into a busy road or something. If very steep you can get metal chucks (I think they are called) that should work better than blocks of other types. You see truckers use them all the time.

That or if time, fix the dang parking brake now,
