If the common components are known good - radiator and properly filled, thermostat, hoses not collapsed, fan clutch working properly (the age in as little as five years), nothing plugged up............Then there might be a surprise if this uses a "heat riser" in the exhaust (they put a choke type thing in one manifold to run exhaust to the other side to warm up intake) and if those stick shut the engine is tough to keep cool. May not have that system. Also please state whether this really is a Pontiac engine or not as right about that year they were mixing them up, T
