car vibration while driving?????

Hello again, everyone. Hope you can help on this problem. My car has a vibration/shaking issue while driving. When driving on the road my car has a slight vibration to it that gets worse the faster i drive. Once my car reaches higher speeds the vibration becomes more apparent, especially at 60mph +. Now, the vibration is at it's worse , when Im going at speeds over 60 and driving(more like coasting) down hill. Again, strongest when I am coasting down hill especially at higher speeds. By what I can tell, the vibration is coming from the front of the vehicle and possibly the front right tire but no certain on that. I changed the Bolt Joint on the front right tire thinking that might fix it but alas it didn't. I'll have my tires balanced this weekend but I'm pretty sure that isn't it. I had my right tire balanced already and still didn't cure it. So what test can i do to narrow the problem down and what could be the problem that's causing this vibration issue?? What should i check for on my suspension system that could be the culprit?? Thanks in advance for any help on this. Oh, by the way, my car is a 1995 ford escort wagon, 4 cylinder 1.9 liter.

Check or have checked ANYTHING that rolls with the car. Why did you replace the ball joint unless it really was bad that wouldn't do more than exacerbate the real cause? My bet is a tire problem like tread separation but can only guess. They can balance fine but just can stay true. Rotate tires and see if problem follows to another location, T

i agree with the tire separation but the tire techs would have been able to see that in the tire if the vibration is that bad when balancing the tires

The tires are small and the car quite light. Could have a problem tire not noticeable to the tire tech but enough to make it get a nasty shake. I'd follow Tom on this one. Rotate the tires to see if the issue follows the tire or stays put.

I'm no expert but agree with the others about a tire problem and this is why. I have an older car I use only for work. It's a 97 Cavalier with over 200,000 miles on it. I had the exact same problem you are having after I put on two front used tires I got for free. The tires had plenty of tread and looked in near perfect condition. When going under 45mph the vibration was barely,if at all, noticeable. Once I hit 50+ it got worse and worse the faster I went. I was hoping having them balanced would do the trick but no luck. I went ahead and bought new tires for it and no longer had the vibration. Maybe you could rotate the front tires to the rear and see if the vibration is still coming from the front?

I'm not an expert, but I stayed at the Best Western Inn. Not only is balancing important, but road force variation is too. You can balance a square tire. Some shops are equipped with balancers that do road force. They can match mount the tire if it has excessive variation. If match mounting doesn't work and the variation is still high, you'll probably need a tire if the rim is within run-out. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
