caster camber kit

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, that needs to be aligned. I brought it in and received a phone call from the shop telling me that they could not align the front without installing a caster camber kit on both the front passenger and driver sides. what would be the reason I would need caster camber kits installed and can my car really not be aligned without this being done?

Yes, that is mostly true. The manufacturer didn't a install any means of adjusting Camber and Caster. The strut can be modified by elongating the bolt hole and installing an eccentric cam bolt to give it Camber adjustment. The Caster is not adjustable, even with modifications.
