I just purchased a 2006 chevy silverado 4.8 V8 with digital dash display. The current reading is in French- how do I change it to English?

youll have to try to navigate the info center menu buttons. there should be a "how To" in your owners manual..........OR you can take this time to learn a little french and go online and translate what the info center says lol __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

I would check the owners manual but it is also in French and my very limited knowledge of the language won't get me too far.

Maybe a local dealer or shop will help you. They may do it for free or for a minimal charge. Or find another person that has the same vehicle and see if you can borrow the owners manual. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Here's some info out of an owner's manual. Dan. Driver’s Information Centre (DIC) Vehicle Customization Your vehicle may have customization capabilities that allow you to program some features to one setting based on your preference. All of the customizable options listed may not be available on your vehicle. Only the options available will be displayed on your Driver Information Center (DIC). The default settings for the customization features were set when your vehicle left the factory, but may have been changed from their default state since then. To change feature preferences, make sure the ignition is on and the vehicle is in PARK (P). Press the customization button to scroll through the available customizable options. After pressing the customization button, VEHICLE SETTINGS will momentarily display before going to a customization option. Language To select your preference for display language, press the select button while LANGUAGE is displayed on the DIC. Pressing the select button will scroll through the following languages: • ENGLISH • FRANCAIS (French) • ESPANOL (Spanish) Choose one of the available options and press the customization button while it is displayed on the DIC to select it. If you accidentally choose a language that you do not want or understand, press and hold the customization button and the trip information button at the same time. The DIC will begin scrolling through the languages in their particular language. English will be in English, Francais will be in French and Espanol will be in Spanish. When you see the language that you would like, release both buttons. The DIC will then display the information in the language you chose. You can also scroll through the different languages by pressing and holding the trip reset stem for four seconds, as long as you are in the odometer mode. Driver Information Center (DIC) The Driver Information Center (DIC) display is located on the instrument panel cluster, below the speedometer. If your vehicle has DIC buttons, they are located on the steering wheel. The DIC can display information such as the trip odometer, fuel economy, customization features, and warning/status messages. If your vehicle does not have DIC steering wheel buttons, you will not have all of the features listed. Scroll through the odometer, trip odometer, engine hours, and selected range if your vehicle has an Allison Transmission® by pressing the trip odometer reset stem located on the instrument panel cluster. Turn off, or acknowledge, DIC messages by pressing the trip odometer reset stem. See Speedometer and Odometer for information on features for vehicles without DIC buttons. If your vehicle has an Allison Transmission® and the shift lever is in the MANUAL MODE (M) position, the DIC will display the current gear range. The DIC will also display the gear range as it is shifted up or down. For example, if the gear range is currently set to 6, the DIC will display (6) 5 4 3 2 1. When the gear range is shifted down one time, the DIC will display 6 (5) 4 3 2 1. See Automatic Transmission Operation for more information. (Trip Information): Press this button to display the odometer, trip odometers, timer, engine hours, and selected range if your vehicle has an Allison Transmission®. (Fuel Information): Press this button to display the current range, fuel used, average fuel economy, and engine oil life. (Customization): Press this button to access the vehicle settings menu and customize the personal settings on your vehicle. (Select): Press this button to reset certain DIC functions and set your customization settings. Pressing any of the four DIC buttons will acknowledge some DIC messages and clear them from the DIC display. Canadian "EH"

-Turn the ignition switch to the run position (not just the accessory position), ENGINE OFF. -Depress the gas peddle to the floor 3 times slowly but within 5 seconds. -If the OIL LIFE RESET message flashs for 10 seconds, the system is resetting. - Turn ignition to the lock position. If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure. If it still does not reset, see your dealer or your repair garage for service. Dan. Canadian "EH"
