Well, S-10s TMK began sales in 1982 up so which year do you want anyone to guess or if this is a factory or aftermarket set up?

Factory - don't think they offered it on the first ones at all and anything aftermarket you need to know what that company designed to fix or what was involved to remove it totally which is what I would suggest,

OK: Would hope info came with this truck AND two sets of keys and fobs. Try both would be my first shot. After that you may do better with a dealer to remove/bypass the system cleanly not hacked up.

I would have no data specific to this - others may have a procedure to do to re-set the systems some I've seen take several cycles and time to do such that it wouldn't be too easy for just anyone or fast.

You don't have this vehicle to check things so defer this to your son/owner with the issue to look for info on how it's supposed to work in the first place then may need a dealer to get it either set or be bypassed properly defeating it completely,

Here's where you get the info but it isn't free.

No

Even if we knew how to bypass the system to defeat it, why would we give you that information? Don't need to make it easy for the car thieves out there.

Have the system scanned to see what trouble code(s) is stored and troubleshoot to find out what repair is needed.

Re: chevy s10 Sign In

DS - Nothing near this new but have taken anti-theft systems out - all non OE that were just a pest all the time more than any fear of a vehicle being stolen. Just having keys to it, is plenty for some and would be for me.

I don't want a car with a chip key or have to need a fob control to set and disarm alarms, open doors at all. Tried recently new to get a vehicle with NO power locks at all and only could by ordering it but could still. Also want a passenger's door to have access without a remote or power to the vehicle at all or just don't lock it at all - if in a locked garage or place why?

Get all the anti-theft things you want but some or most are a problem for owners not the thieves.............

Don't worry, Tom still has wooden wheels on his car too.
