code p102
1999 Olds Intrigue Code p102: Car was idling low and would continuously shut off while driving. This was causing it hard to steer off road. It would happen when stopped at the light AND while accelerating. Used all the ideas we could find and think of but now were LOST. We had changed the MAS and cleaned all connectors, no wires are damaged, no air leaks, replaced the MAP, Replaced the air filter, replaced pcv valve... engine service light is still on. Any ideas?! PLEASE HELP!!

Are you still getting the same code every time? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

That's not a bad thing. Your just misdiagnosing the problem. What engine does it have? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You can't just assume the sensor is the cause of the problem because there are numerous other possibilities such as any of the related wiring or the PCM itself. Here is the factory flow chart for diagnosing that code on that car.

Yes, I'm afraid diagnostics is a lot more than just reading codes and changing parts.

Just had a very similar issue with my 2004 Endeavor, "service engine light" came on, was stalling when RPM dropped below 1000, took it to Advanced Auto for free diagnosis of the engine code: P0102. Turns out the matter was resolved by replacing the Mass Airflow Sensor. Advance wanted $163.00, Autozone wanted $106.00, dealership wanted $250.00; part is an "order only" part. I contacted an auto salvage yard nearby, got the part, identical to mine, for $54.00. Problem solved.
