I have a Buick Century 1995,over 100,000 miles I think on it,I do not know engine size. With no warning it started to show the thermostat gauge getting up into the hot zone as I drove it,I looked in the resovoir and all the coolant was gone,so I filled it with new coolent, but the moment I start driving it,the coolant leaks out of the resovoir, when it is not being driven the coolant I put in stays in,the car still is overheating,it goes really hot then bounces down to normal or below??perplexing.I am a woman,a senior citizen, and I do not know much about cars,I live in Fontana CA.I took it into a local car fix it place, they looked at it and told me the coolant is going through a crack in the engine and mixes with the oil swishing around in the engine and that they would have to take half the engine out and rebuild half of it,for a huge amount of money I do not have,I am poor.I loved my Buick for many years it has served me well, but it seems if it is the whole engine, with very expensive repairs is what I face,I have a big problem.Any advice, thank you kindly.

If you truly are getting coolant into the oil, then you have serious issues and if you drive it that way, they will get even more serious. Get it towed to get a second opinion if you need to but do not drive it that way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
