How do I remove the cv half shaft on a ponitac aztek 2001. Do I need to raise the engine? or can I just remove the bolts?

No you do not need to raise the engine; but you will need to disassemble some suspension and steering components that will allow the shaft to be removed. That along with having the axle too hub center nut removed and the inner joint of the axle, unclipped from the transmission. There are no bolts on the transmission that need to be removed for this job.
