2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, V8, 48,118 miles When I go to start the car it makes a LOUD ticking noise then after a few tries starts. It does not do this everytime, it's unpredictable. Started happening 2 days ago. Did it this morning again and I traveled doing errands for 3 hrs, stopping and starting it at least 5 or 6 times, and it did not occur again. What is the problem with it?

Sounds like you have a battery connection issue somewhere. Remove the battery cables and wire brush them thoroughly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
