drive shdft help Sign In

i have tryed to put the drivers side drive shaft back in to my astra and there seems to be a pin in the way any ideas

I'm not familiar with that model but on most frt wheel drive cars there is a little snap ring on the end of the shaft that goes into the transmission. I get the splines on the shaft started and then rotate the shaft while pushing or "popping" the shaft gently. You can feel the shaft "bottom out" every time you give it a shovel.... The snap ring has to get into a good spot and then with a little popping force the shaft will go into place...

You just have to becareful not to bend the snap ring. If it gets deformed it won't snap into place and hold the shaft.....
