Hi everyone I have a question is vacuum reading test one of the best method to find out if an engine is in good mechanical health.

Yes, a manifold vacuum check is one good way to determine the health of an engine. A high steady reading after the engine has warmed up is a sign of a healthy engine.

It won't tell you if the owner was negligent on changing the oil and the inside of the crankcase looks like Carlsbad caverns though.
