is it safe to drive the truck 20 miles or so to the repair shop, or should it be towed? It had one quart of engine oil added to it and is full now.

If motor oil was added to the trans ,I wouldn't take the risk in burning up the trans even 10 miles could hurt it,was the vehicle started afterwards? if so its gonna need a complete flush jobUnsure

Getting it towed for a flush will be cheaper than driving it and damaging the tranny.
