2006 Saturn van, 3.5 l engine, 165000 km.
Just started yesterday when I started the van with the remote the engine seems to run rough and the message Engine reduced power. I also have Service Traction Control, sevice abs system lights on. What would be causing the loss of power to happen.

The "reduced engine power" issue is usually associated with a problem with the "drive by wire" electronic throttle system. You need to start out by having the codes read and post the exact numbers here.

Engine problem reads Reduced Engine Power.
Code no. P2101 throttle control motor
P2135 throttle pedal position sensor switch "A" "B" voltage
U0107 throttle body communication lost.
P0449
P1516

Yes, these are all codes dealing with the "drive by wire" system, specifically there seems to be some communications issues between the throttle body and the Pedal Position sensor so it needs some in depth diagnosis.

Does the engine crank slow. Make sure the battery is fully charged and have it tested. Also make sure your battery connections are clean and tight. It is possible some of those codes can set if you have a weak battery during cranking. Once you know the battery and connections check out good, clear the codes and see which ones come back.

Thank you I will check. I tested today by giving full throttle on the pedal and that's when it went in to limp mode. I stopped it and turned it off for a few hours and when
I re-started it good cranking, no slow cranking that I noticed, and I put it in drive and slowly stepped on the pedal and I made it home with no problems (15 KM). So it seems that on full throttle the pedal sensor signal doesn't get to the throttle body or TAC.
What else could I check?

Without scan tool data information or some TPS voltage readings using something like a scope. There really is nothing else you can do for it.

So it could be either one of the components. I guess I will have to take it in to a shop tp get an scan and estimate done. I tried it today by flooring it and it wnt into limp mode Reduced Engine Power.

One thing that you could do before you take it into the shop is to open the throttle by hand and check for binding with the throttle motor unplugged and ignition off.
