P-0440 This code means that the evap system has detected a large leak. The evap system puts a vacuum on your gas tank and then sees how long it will hold it. If it looses vacuum too quickly, or can not achieve the desired vacuum level, it will set this code. Many times this code is set from either filling up with gas while your engine is running or not having the gas cap on tight. I can tell you that the most common things that go bad and set this code, are the evap vent solenoid, and the evap purge solenoid. If I an be of more help, let me know. P-1404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Closed Position Performance With these codes it's pretty common to see some small pieces of carbon stuck in the egr pintle holding it open. I'd pull the egr valve off and check for this. I won't tell you to replace it but If it was mine and I didn't find anything in it I'd replace it. __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1
