Hi, I have a 20001 dodge intrepid with a 2.7 motor with about 120,000 miles on it. My problem is when I am braking at highway speeds I start hearing a thumping sound coming from under the front of the car. I first thought the rotors were wrapped so I checked them visually. They look pretty goood, there is alot of brake pad left both inside and outside. Also the steering seems to be ok. any ideas??? Thanks in advance for your help.

You have 2 cars with the same problem with likely the same cause. You can tell anything from visually looking at a rotor. You likely have distorted rotors and will have to replace the pads and rotors. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
