fuel pump in 95 suburan Sign In

My 95 suburban has sat for about a year or longer. It acts like its not getting gas. It will fire if I use starting fuild so I know there is spark. I can hear the fuel pump start up if I lay under the car and have someone turn on the key, but I was told there should be sufficent pressure that when I disconnect a fuel line from the fuel filter or trottle body, fuel should squirt out. I get an increase in flow at the filter, but almost know fuel at the trottle body. I have checked the lines for plugs or leaks. Could my fuel pump be running but not putting out enough pressure to run the car???

If you are getting plenty of fuel at the filter but none at the thottle body the filter may be the problem. Won't cost much to try this first and it will need to be done anyway since the truck has sat for a while. The pump on this model can run but not pump fuel due to a rubber fuel line blowing out or falling off on the fuel pump itself. This model has a rubber line between the pump and the fuel pick tube inside the fuel tank. These hoses are bad about failing. The truck will usually still run with the tank full because fuel level is over the blown out hose, but one level gets to low the problem will come back. Even though you have full at the fuel filter you may not have enough pressure to run the truck.

I already changed the filter. I don't get alot of presure at the filter lines. It just kind of runs out slowly when the filter is disconnected
