When you take your gas cap off, shouldn't you hear some kind of suction sound? When I remove mine from my 1998 Ford Taurus Station Wagon I hear nothing.

i dont know bout most cars or your type but mine hisses as pressure is released and it all depends on how far and long you drive. if its a minute or two away it probably wont build lots of pressure so wont make a sound. As a rule, fuel tanks don't run under pressure. the only time you may see this is with a lot of fuel in the tank and parked in the sun. The EVAP system will pressurize the system at times for testing and it will vent it to the intake at times also so don't even be concerned about that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It's possible. Mine never does. Nothing to be concerned about if it's not setting EVAP codes.
