Does using the wrong catalytic for the car cause any problems?? Reason I ask is whoever had my 98 2.2L s10 before me obviously put the wrong cat in. It literally looks like they cut the old one off and welded on another one. Could this be causing any back pressure issues or flow related issues? Do all cats do the same thing or are there specific cats for each car (aside from dimension and size)?

If you're not getting a check engine light, don't worry about it. Many aftermarket cats look like that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
