hi i have a 1991 chevy 2500 2wh drive What happend was rear brake line blew at fire wall,it sprayed brake fluid up and on back & top of motor. It covered dist. cap/ wires/ coil & egr Went to put it in garage it spit n sputtered bogged out when touched gas By the way it ran gr8 untill this. So i changed cap rotor plugs n wires,it drove perfect for about 10 or 12 miles and started bogging when hitting gas It will stall when under load {power breaking in drive} but idle in park it now revs up and down and tries to stall any thoughts? ty

Thoughts:

Try spraying carb cleaner at this new EGR and see if it reacts - carfully please as carb cleaner can catch fire. It shouldn't change any idle it has and may be leaking.

Try unplugging the vacuum source to it. It could be misrouted now and opening when it shouldn't and would cause wild loss of power and a stall.

Brake fluid alone really won't hurn engine but it could aggrevate the dist cap etc of high voltage secondaries. It's not good for paint at all and is water soluable just so you know.

Another guess: Converter is plugged. Since dist cap and those repairs helped with this situation they probably were in need badly before the brake line problem and the misfiring would clog a converter over some time - not all that long always either. A vacuum test of actual manifold vacuum is an easy way to test for exhaust restrictions. Should read the same at a decent idle and when held over 2,000 RPM with no load steady for a couple seconds. If lower at the higher RPM then exhaust restriction is suspect,
